Call 11890 Ltd, the Irish Directory Enquiries company has today launched a drive to achieve 10% of the lucrative directory enquires market estimated to be worth €70m by 2008. This target will be underpinned with the offer of free directory enquiries for eircom landline callers for the entire month of February.

Launched in July 2006, 11890 says that it made an instant impression on the telecommunications sector with ComReg estimating customer usage of 3% of the total market at the end of 2006. Headquartered in Clonshaugh Industrial Estate, Dublin, the company established a second call centre in Galway last October and a total staff of 70 including call centre staff, account management and technical staff. The third entrant into the directory enquiries market, 11890 aim to create another 80 new jobs over the next 18 months. Having introduced real competition into the marketplace with its 24% cheaper from landline proposition, 11890 now offers customers prices ranging between 26% and 35% cheaper then 11811 and 11850 respectively. A key offering at the core of the company’s success to-date has been the focus on customer interaction as callers enjoy personal professional operators instead of automated machines.

11890’s core offering is reinforced by an expanding range of business to business clients. These companies, which include a large portion of Ireland’s leading companies such as AIB, Goodbodys, KPMG, An Post and Elan, have chosen 11890 as their directory enquiry service of choice not only based on price but also on speed and accuracy of service.

Expanding on its business to business service, 11890 is currently finalising a new premier business listing service. This will enable 11890 offer callers range of service providers upon request. The company will also publish a business listings directory when the service is launched in April.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Nicola Byrne, Managing Director, Call 11890 Ltd, "Today’s announcement of free directory enquiry calls for landlines during the month of February demonstrates how serious 11890 is about shaking up the directory enquiries market in Ireland. We have set ourselves a target of 10% of the market by 2008 and so far we as a company have performed above expectations.

Byrne continued, We are excited by the challenge to hit our targets not only in customer usage but also in job creation. As an Irish company job creation is central to the ethos of senior management. Our continued success will be met with continued development, we have already opened a second call centre in Galway and are currently looking into alternative locations for a third site."

11890 offer customers 24/7 service through its state of the art call centre facilities. Unlike its competitors 11890 customers are not automatically connected through to numbers, thereby reducing customer charges. A connect through service is available to callers if requested. 11890 also offer free text back to callers from mobile phones as standard.
